Solar Energy from Roads

Solar energy has been one of the most important sources of power in today’s world. Scientists and researchers are working towards increasing the number of ways solar energy can be extracted and used. They have been successful in implementing number of such ways. One such new technology is generating solar power from the resource that we use daily which is nothing but the roads surface. The heat absorbed by the asphalt pavement of the road surface is enormous to the extent that it can be used as a source for generating power. The rate of heat absorption can be increased by adding quartzite and the solar energy can be collected by heat exchangers placed underneath the pavement.
